This months show was at The Old Blue Last; a venue who understands the current music scene like no other. I was really psyched to be able to put my third gig on here. They always know exactly who to book and look after promoters and bands like no other I’ve worked with.

With  a sensual, retro delay that would feel at home in Kill Bill or Pulp Fiction; Night Shades set a dirty rock ‘n’ roll scene from the off. Contrasting nicely with this are the grungy, distorted vocals that soar over the threshold with ease. An energetic performance from a very promising band who have already supported the likes of upcoming bands Crows and Yak. ‘London Calling’ is bound to be a crowd pleaser and the cause of many a mosh pit in the future. Expect some sweaty, jam packed headline gigs on the way.

Forever one of my favourite London bands Long Teeth graced us with their beautiful presence once again. With some new songs under their belt their set is only getting stronger and more intriguing. Sam Asbury, a man of captivating lyrical content, has provided the songs with some really interesting insights that have the strength to absorb the attention they deserve. With Jade’s moody bass lines and eyes of seduction, Sam’s almost theatrical, punk outbursts and Al’s energetic, faultless drumming Long Teeth are a dream to watch from start to finish.

Headlining came from psychedelic/rock punk band ‘Secret Tongues’. However secret they may have once been it won’t be long before Secret Tongues are the band on everyone’s lips. The dark and gloomy sounds looming from the guitars paired with punk-esque dual vocals and fast paced drumming makes this band something really special. With Adam Brennan’s seriously inventive songwriting and having a captivating front woman to die for in the form of Sarah Marie Collins; Secret Tongues have a lot of good eggs in their basket. The show was energetic and mesmerising, not one to be forgotten in a while!

Thanks to all the awesome bands and Old Blue Last for being amazing from the beginning. Watch out for the next gig coming soon!
